Indianapolis Injury Lawyers Are Ready To Help
There are all kinds of different service trucks on the roadways of Indianapolis on any given day at any given time. These trucks, while sometimes annoying to maneuver around, do provide important and necessary services for many people. At the same time, in most instances drivers of these vehicles work very hard to employ safe driving measures in the areas where they work. However, not all service vehicle drivers are always safe. When these drivers do let their guard down and forget about safety that is often when accidents occur. Because of the size of many of these vehicles, these accidents usually end up very serious.
Three people, including two children are still fighting for their lives after a service truck reportedly struck the vehicle in which they were traveling. The auto accident, which recently occurred in Fountain County, happened at a four-way stop, when the driver of the service truck apparently failed to stop at the intersection. The truck slammed into the side of the other vehicle carrying the three victims. The driver of that vehicle and her two young children, who were passengers in the car, were all critically injured in the accident. All three victims reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries. They were reportedly all in critical condition at the time of this report.
The driver of the truck, a 38-year-old man, from Morgantown declined to be treated at the scene. At the time of this report, authorities did not say what caused the accident, but they do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. According to witnesses, the driver simply didn’t stop at the intersection. It was not reported if the man saw the sign and ignored it, or if he overlooked it. Authorities are still investigating the incident and charges could still be filed.
It appears that the driver of the service vehicle was either not paying attention or not driving carefully enough at the time of this accident. If investigators determine that the service truck driver was at fault then he could be held liable for the injuries of the three victims.
